What is the 4th sector, and why is it crucial to our name and mission?
The fourth sector of the economy comprises for-benefit organizations that feature elements of each of the three primary sectors of our economy – public, private, and non-profit. For example, charter schools are government funded, privately managed, and organized as non-profit organizations. Many other fourth sector organizations have aspects of their mission that cross over the three primary sectors and can benefit from our focus on and experience serving such clients. As a social enterprise, our commitment to combining purpose with performance drives everything we do.
